General information about the role :

This role translates the strategic direction of our portfolios of business into actions that support local teams in providing flexible and profitable underwriting solutions to our broker partners.

Key responsibilities :

• Monitor and provide thought leadership on trends, emerging issues and exposures.
• Develop and execute effective strategies that demonstrate an understanding of how our products drive value for our customers and fit within their markets.
• Develop plans to drive profit, identify growth opportunities (product, industry, or segment), and identify / address threats to our business.
• Act as a strategic partner to the MD and Commercial Directors and manage the interaction with the European Underwriting Team.
• Lead product development (in close collaboration with other departments) in order to create a competitive and profitable product suite in line with customer needs and covering multiple distribution channels.
• Build and maintain broker relationships, and monitor product results to develop and execute ideas for improving productivity, profitability and pricing practices.
• Contribute to product promotion and webinars across the different distribution channels
• Act as the referral point for larger more complex risks
• Manage, attract and retain a team of technical underwriters / product heads that can deliver high quality performance.
• Ensure compliance with all Underwriting controls and regulatory needs
