Joining an ambitious and dynamic project,you will be part of the project team in Ghent as an ElectricalProject Engineer for the scope related to adaptations in theexisting Steel Shop. You will handle major sub-projects and workclosely with the project managers / engineers in the team“Adaptations Steel Shop”.

Your expertise in coordinating and providingtechnical direction within the electrical discipline will becrucial in ensuring the team delivers this major project on timeand within budget

Key tasks

Responsible for the projectmanagement of several subprojects (>

10MEURO) with a mainlyelectrical scope, taking into account highly complex brownfieldconditions and production restrictions,   You collaborate closely with EPCMand permitting partners (scope definition, reviewing schedules fordeliverables, enforcing standardization).   You are the main contact person todive into technical discussions with suppliers and engineeringcontractors.   You check and definetechnical requirements, designs and offers from a generaltechnical, multidisciplinary and common-sense perspective. You aresupported by expert discipline engineers for detailed technicalknowledge, who you give clear directions regarding their tasks andthe related subproject scope   Youtake a leading role in challenging electrical design concepts,ensuring the choice of the best available technology.   You ensure integration and validatebrownfield adaptations always ensuring the preservation of existingoperations.   You guide reviews andapprovals for documents, drawings and requests for change.   You enable periodic internal reviewsand coordination with stakeholders to address scope gaps andfollow-through resolution towards project completion.   Proactively escalate projectgovernance issues that are creating a barrier to project deliveryin a timely manner towards the lead project management team andmake recommendations for how they can be realigned with the plan.   Drive continuous processimprovements through the project lifecycle, by using lessons learntand identifying opportunities.   Analyse improvement areas identifiedvia maturity assessment, evaluate use cases & prioritize andpropose actions.   You will supportand report to the Steel Shop project delivery lead of theproject.

Jobexperience / other skills   +10 years’experience as a Project Engineer in a similar role.Responsibilities in this position can be expanded based onexperience and expertise   A broadtechnical background is needed to understand and navigate theentire scope. Experience in any of these areas would be a plus :   Electro-mechanical installations   6-30 kV networks, switchgears andtransformers   Low voltagedistribution   Instrumentation andcontrol   Level 1 and 2 automations   It’s a plus if you have : experiencein managing EPCM or EPC companies, mining & metal sectorknowledge, experience in a multinational production company

Courses   Master / Bachelor degree inengineering or equivalent professional technical education, withElectrical, instrumentation or automation background

Languageskills   Project language is English   Knowledge of the Dutch language is aprerequisite

Others   Main working place is in Ghent(Belgium).
