Company OverviewWe are a Belgian Engineering consulting firm that assists SMEs and large industrial organizations in bringing their innovation and R&D initiatives to life.For one of our clients located in Flanders, we are looking for a Research Engineer - Functional Safety.Our customer aims to initiate a digital transformation in the manufacturing industry that will significantly strengthen the competitiveness of manufacturing companies in Flanders. Our customer's ambition is to bridge the gap between research and the real need for new technologies in industrial companies. To this end, our customer defines projects to help manufacturing companies with their technological industry 4.0 challenges. The results of these projects are typically a proof of concept or prototype that proves that a particular technology works.💼Project description : We are looking for an expert in functional safety, contributing to the establishment of new system architecture, process and test procedures for automated functionalities in complex vehicle systems & machine construction in a wide range of industry partners.More specifically, the research engineer will : Prepare safety analyses from start to execution, using known standards.Prepare tests to ensure functional safety.Have an impact on the system architecture.Lead and collaborate in the research team.Train and share knowledge with junior team members.Define functional safety (research and B2B) projects or work packages in interaction with companies and other researchers.

Profile / Requirements :

Your profile and qualifications : Master or PhD in Engineering (Electricity, electronics, functional safety, automotive,....).A recognisable link between the candidate's track record and the research domains of our customer by means of at least 1 relevant project in his / her academic or professional careerA clear motivation and strong interest in the proposed research areaResearch mindset with a focus on technology and results for top industry.Professional communication in Dutch and English, both written and oral.Experience in supervising and collaborating with junior colleagues.🌟OfferWe offer you a position as a consultant within the fascinating world of high tech and innovation.
