Senior Accountant

Zaventem | Dutch English | Permanent contract | International company | Attractive salaryFor one of our clients, located in Zaventem, Hays is looking for a Senior Accountant Dutch / English :

What you'll be doing :

  • Financial Reporting : Handle VAT returns, balance sheets, and compliance with international standards (BE GAAP) while conducting reconciliations.
  • Process Management : Implement efficient accounting processes and internal controls and suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Compliance and Audits : Ensure adherence to legislation and internal rules, and manage documentation during audits, following up on action points and recommendations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting : Contribute to budget creation and financial forecasts, monitoring performance and analyzing variances between actual and budgeted figures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and collaborate effectively with other departments.

What we're looking for :

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with at least 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accountancy software or ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Belgian accounting principles, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international tax laws and regulations (IFRS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Integrity, discretion, and ethical behavior are essential.
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English
