Meet the Team

Cisco’s Government Affairs team represents the company with governments around the world to build relationships with key leaders, advance Cisco’s public policy goals, and educate governments about our industry. Government Affairs is involved in all key legislative, regulatory, and global issues that impact the technology industry.

We are comprised of government and public policy experts across nearly two dozen countries who represent Cisco at the highest levels of government. The team has extensive experience in and out of government and are leaders in the industry.

The European Public Policy team is looking for a passionate Intern to support with :

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation, coordination and follow up of events and internal meetings
  • Research & monitor key policy trends, regulatory changes and developments in several areas, i.e. Connectivity, AI, cybersecurity, digital transformation, skills, geopolitics and trade, competition and energy
  • Create and maintain severalbriefings, presentations, newsletters, stakeholders mapping and other written materials for the EU and global public policy team
  • Attend and produce summaries of conferences, seminars, hearings, industry associations meetings

Minimum Requirements

  • Recent graduate or accepted into a Master's degree in law, political science,public policy, economics,or other related field.
  • Fluent in English. Other EU languages are an asset.
  • Must be able to legally live and work in Belgium, without visa support or sponsorship
  • An interest in EU Public Affairs, notably in the fields of digital and telecoms policies
  • Preferred Requirements

  • A sound knowledge of the EU and its institutions and policy-making processes
  • Strong research and analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyse legislation, rules and regulations and summarise them in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to show assertiveness, flexibility, autonomy and diplomacy
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability present ideas and findings at the right level of detail
