VIB Center for Molecular Neurology at the University of Antwerp is looking for a part-time Information security administrator (IT team)
Position
The position includes the following tasks :
- Linux server system administration (AlmaLinux, Proxmox, Debian, ...)
- Use scripting and automation tools (bash, Ansible, Python, ...)
- Maintain and monitor log management systems
- Handle and respond to security alerts
- Enforce and support security policies and best practices
- Perform internal security audits and follow up on findings
- Report security incidents and support mitigation
- Help develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Raise security awareness in our research center
- You will be part of a small team. While you'll have the opportunity to work independently on specific topics, you will also collaborate closely with the team.
Profile
You have a Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, or equivalent competences gained through prior work experienceEager to learn, flexible and motivated to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary environmentAnalytical, able to troubleshoot, with a strong preference to work in a supporting roleProactive and able to work independently and within a teamYou have good oral and written knowledge of EnglishYou act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.A passion for open-source softwareEthical hacker mindsetExperience in academic settings is a plusIf you have hands-on Linux administration skills, love to automate, and a passion for security, we’d love to hear from you.What we offer
We offer a part-time, temporary contract for a period of one year.
