OPERATIONS DIRECTOR Benelux

Position Overview

The Operations Director Benelux provides strategic direction and operational leadership across the Logistics, Demand Planning, Sales Administration, and After-Sales teams in the Benelux region. The objective is to deliver superior customer service, drive efficiency, and align operations with corporate goals through common tools and resource planning.

Reporting Line

Reports to the General Manager Benelux & Vice President Northern Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clear leadership to the supply chain team and contribute to business goals through active participation in the Benelux Management Team.
  • Lead the forecasting process in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing, ensuring alignment with business objectives and critical timelines.
  • Ensure customer orders are delivered on time, in full, and with optimal quality.
  • Drive and implement strategic corporate supply chain initiatives, particularly around organizational structure and operational processes.
  • Oversee Sales Administration to ensure timely, accurate order processing in line with agreed KPIs.
  • Evaluate and optimize supply chain processes to ensure alignment with both internal standards and customer requirements.
  • Identify and implement measures to enhance customer service levels while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Conduct regular customer reviews across all supply chain touchpoints to strengthen collaboration.
  • Supervise the contact centre and after-sales administration in alignment with Group policies.
  • Oversee returns and refurbishment processes in compliance with internal audit standards.
  • Lead and develop direct reports through coaching and performance management.
  • Propose and implement local initiatives to improve logistics flows and reduce costs (e.g., direct imports, backhauling).

Profile

Education & Experience

  • Academic-level thinking and working.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a comparable supply chain management role, ideally within FMCG, consumer durables, or housewares.
  • Experience within an international matrix organization is an asset.
  • Knowledge & Systems

  • Strong expertise in supply chain management principles and best practices.
  • Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, APO) and advanced Excel skills.
  • A relevant network within the logistics and supply chain sector is advantageous.

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Sound operational knowledge in logistics, demand planning, and customer service.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
