For the expansion of our Facility team, we are currently looking for an EHS Manager (Prevention Advisor Level 1) . As a Prevention Advisor, you will be responsible for creating and following up on the global prevention plan and the annual action plan, while remaining active on the work floor. You will ensure safety awareness through communication and training, and you will identify risks on the work floor. The focus of this position is in Zwijnaarde , where our offices and laboratories are located. We also have offices in Boston, Tokyo, Toronto, and business centers worldwide.

This position is based in Zwijnaarde (Ghent).

1. PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

As a Prevention Advisor, you will be part of the Facilities and EHS team and will take on a central and guiding role. You will act as the point of contact for all matters related to safety and prevention, with responsibility for helping shape and implement policy. In this position, you will be expected to take initiative, address people when necessary, and guide them in complying with safety regulations. You will be given the autonomy to work independently, manage your own agenda, and actively provide direction to improvement processes. Your communication skills and leadership abilities will be crucial to convince colleagues at various levels, raise awareness, and get them on board with fostering a safer work culture.

Combination of Policy and Hands-On Tasks : You will play an essential role in which both policy-related and practical, hands-on tasks come together. You will not only be responsible for developing and following up on the prevention policy but also for its concrete application on the work floor. This combination of strategic thinking and operational involvement ensures a varied and dynamic role, where you will constantly switch between consultation, analysis, action, and follow-up. As a result, no two days will be the same, and you will have the chance to make a visible difference within the organization.

2. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy-Based Safety :

You will be responsible for the global prevention plan and annual action plan, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including all legal documents and reports.

Risk Analysis and Improvement Actions :

You will identify and analyze risks on the work floor, formulate improvement proposals, and evaluate the effectiveness of these actions together with relevant colleagues.

Strengthening Safety Awareness :

You will encourage employees to act safely and proactively through coaching, communication, and a motivational approach.

First Point of Contact and Exemplary Role :

You will be the central point of contact for safety and demonstrate exemplary behavior in the use of PPE and safety equipment.

Supporting Safe Technical Projects :

You will contribute to safety considerations in new and existing installations and monitor safety during technical work.

Organizing Training and Inspections :

You will provide safety training, conduct evacuation exercises, write procedures, and coordinate both internal and external inspections.

3. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

You have a certificate as a Prevention Advisor Level 1 .

You have at least 2 years of experience as a Prevention Advisor and / or Manager in a similar sector.

You have experience working in a laboratory environment .

You are fluent in Dutch and English .

You have a sense of responsibility and a real hands-on mentality.

You can work independently and are a communicative and administrative all-rounder.

You are able to work collaboratively and effectively within cross-functional teams and networks.

You have demonstrated communication skills in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual global environment.

You are agile and demonstrate adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, trust-building, and resilience.

You derive energy from operating in a dynamic, complex, fast-moving, and frequently changing business environment.

You have demonstrable experience with project management , proactive planning, priority setting, and securing alignment.

You are outcome-driven.
