Task Description

BICS is looking for a skilled and motivated Engineer to support our Cloud Communication value stream in delivering state-of-the-art solutions.

Within Cloud Communication , we support global enterprises and leading service or XaaS providers with their international cloud telephony needs. Our platform delivers programmable voice and messaging services, global number provisioning, and SIP trunking—enabling secure, scalable, and compliant communications worldwide. These API-driven solutions help modernize communications infrastructure, ensuring high availability, quality, and performance across our global network.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of general voice technologies and hands-on experience with SIP trunking implementations .

Based on business, technical, operational, and regulatory requirements, value streams at BICS are responsible for translating innovative concepts into deployable network solutions and OSS systems within the Cloud Communication domain—designing, developing, and integrating them into the operational environment to ensure readiness, scalability, and performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the design, development, and deployment of network and OSS solutions, addressing business, technical, operational (, provisioning, service assurance), and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver solutions that meet objectives within scope, time, and budget, balancing third-party solutions with in-house development and integration.
  • Drive platform design end-to-end, from requirement gathering to production launch.
  • Evaluate system performance, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and capabilities.
  • Analyze technical solutions in line with evolving business and operational needs, considering cost, quality, and time-to-market. Recommend future evolution paths leveraging current and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate across delivery projects (small to medium scale) with stakeholders including product management, operations, suppliers, and IT / network teams.
  • Oversee design, implementation, testing, and rollout of platforms and OSS systems.
  • Document technical designs, procedures, and impact analyses to support operational teams.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure smooth implementation and transition of technical solutions.
  • Lead Voice API integration projects, especially within the FreeSWITCH ecosystem.

Your Profile

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with FreeSWITCH (dial plans, scripting, SIP stack, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of network switching / routing within Unified Communications and VoIP contexts.
  • Experience with multi-platform unified communications and cloud telephony.
  • Proficiency in SIP, HTTP, and API technologies.
  • Understanding of secure VoIP environments, including API security, SSL / TLS.
  • Strong Unix / Linux background.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills using tools like Wireshark, Splunk
  • Required Soft Skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Experience in international wholesale telecom.
  • Knowledge of Metaswitch Perimeta SBC, Ribbon SBC (SBC5K, SWe), Softswitch, and Titan.
  • Familiarity with ENUM, INAP, SIP Registrar / Authentication.
  • Experience with LRF (Location Retrieval Function) and emergency call handling.
  • Understanding of STIR / SHAKEN frameworks.
  • Knowledge of BYOC, PSTN, and contact center architectures.
  • Familiarity with unified communication platforms (, Microsoft Teams).
  • Good grasp of telephony fundamentals (PBX, circuits, dial plans, routing).
