The Customs and Trade Compliance Manager will operate customs management and trade compliance for the EMEA region for B2C business and global operations ex Wattens. This role ensures Swarovski global standard procedures are fulfilled and is responsible for collecting, assessing, and implementing customs requirements, monitoring trade compliance, and coordinating improvement measures in line with Customs regulations, FTAs, and authorities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, document, and implement compliant, optimized customs processes across all product groups and businesses for RDC EMEA (B2C) and GDC Wattens (B2B Clients, Production Network).
- Participate in defining a global customs & trade compliance framework and own its regional implementation, including tariff classifications, export control, GTS, and COO maintenance for B2C and B2B products.
- Identify opportunities to apply new FTAs in the EMEA region and coordinate with external logistics partners and internal Swarovski teams to ensure compliant application (EURs, Authorized Exporter, REX, etc.).
- Actively engage with regional Sales Organizations to ensure optimized and compliant customs setup, including documentation and monitoring of brokers' performance.
- Monitor performance indicators, report monthly to internal stakeholders and external third-party providers, and support quarterly business reviews.
- Ensure audit readiness through risk-based routine surveillance of trade activities and documented self-auditing / testing methods to meet compliance requirements and mitigate risks.
- Support regional Sales Organizations in implementing compliant customs processes and monitor brokers' performance.
- Establish legal information and specifications regarding product labeling (label requirements and hallmarking) in the RDC EMEA process.
Knowledge & Skills :
Deep expertise in global customs regulations, import / export compliance, tariff classification, preferential origin, and customs valuation.Strong working knowledge of EU and international trade laws, FTAs, and customs programsAdvanced knowledge in SAP GTS and SAP SD modules, including export control functionalities and trade compliance reporting.Solid project management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in complex, multi-country environments.Excellent analytical and auditing capabilities with experience developing and executing self-audit programs.High attention to detail and structured working style with strong documentation and reporting skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to partner with internal business units, brokers, and external authorities.Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus.Education & Experience :
University degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Law, or a related field.Customs and / or Trade Compliance certifications (e.g., AEO, customs broker license, WCO or ICC-related training) preferred.Minimum 3 years of professional experience in customs and trade compliance roles within multinational organizations.Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring customs processes and compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.Experience engaging with customs authorities and managing relationships with external brokers and logistics partners.Background in managing regulatory labeling requirements and customs documentation standards across product categories.Benefits :
