Job Title : Senior Moodle Developer / Expert

Location : Brussels, Belgium

Employment Type : Full-Time, Long-term assignment

For one of our clients at the European Commission, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Moodle Developer . The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Moodle, with a strong background in PHP development and LMS implementation.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and maintain custom Moodle plugins, themes, and modules.
Customize and configure Moodle to meet organizational requirements.
Integrate Moodle with third-party systems and tools (e.g., authentication services, CRMs, payment gateways).
Optimize platform performance, scalability, and user experience across devices.
Ensure the security and integrity of the Moodle environment.
Perform system upgrades, patching, and backups in coordination with IT.
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support to users.
Collaborate with instructional designers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with learning goals.

Qualifications :

10+ years of hands-on experience with Moodle development.

Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.

Strong understanding of Moodle architecture and plugin development.

Experience with web services (REST, SOAP) and Moodle API.

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with cloud hosting environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, LTI, or other e-learning standards.

Experience with DevOps tools and practices.

Familiarity with UI / UX best practices for e-learning
