We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial IT Automation Engineer to join our team and work on-site at one of our prestigious clients in the pharmaceutical sector in Gent.

Role Overview :

As an Industrial IT Automation Engineer, you will be embedded within our client’s CAR T organization, supporting their Make Asset Management (MAM) team. You will play a key role in managing and executing industrial IT and automation projects, ensuring operational excellence and compliance in a highly regulated environment.

Main Responsibilities :

Define, prioritize, and execute projects with a focus on project management, planning, and stakeholder management.
Maintain and develop expertise in industrial IT, automation, networks, systems, and data integrity.
Provide second-line support for industrial IT issues, apply troubleshooting methodologies, and lead a team of experts to resolve issues efficiently.
Lead root cause analyses and leverage team expertise.
Collaborate effectively with team members, internal customers, and stakeholders.
Create, implement, and manage lifecycle documents.
Ensure GXP compliance by implementing corrective actions and changes, and thoroughly documenting them.
Act as a bridge to QA from the department.
Collaborate with global departments to translate projects and needs into local initiatives.
Train end users and system administrators.
Build strong partnerships with suppliers.
Drive innovation and integrate new technologies.

Profile Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in industrial automation or a related engineering field.

Minimum of two years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Proven experience in a GxP-regulated environment.

Deep understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP).

Familiarity with industrial automation in the pharma sector is a plus.

Knowledge of PLC Siemens S7 is required.

Strong organizational skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mentality.

Ability to work independently and prioritize under pressure.

Previous experience in a large matrix organization is beneficial.

Fluency in English is required; Dutch at C1 level is preferred.
