In this role, you will be the key figure with regards to optical lab management.
Role and responsibilities
- You will play an important role in our lab management and expansion. We expect you to take charge of the day-to-day operation of Swave’s labs, such as handling orders, material and supply management for multiple optical labs and our demo room.
- You will play an active role in planning, designing and building optical characterization and demo setups.
- You will be responsible for optomechanical design and 3D-printing.
- You will liaise with and be the point of contact for subcontractors, ensuring seamless coordination.
- You will outline and enforce our lab safety procedures (most notably laser safety).
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelors / Masters degree in Optics, or Physics / Engineering.Preferably you have 3+ years of lab experience in an industrial setting.You are comfortable with designing and maintaining optical systems.You have detailed understanding of the day-to-day operation of an optics lab and have proven ability to manage labs with multiple users.You have a deep understanding of optical lab safety and how to implement safe practice or training for lab users.You are naturally organized and tidy.Experience with Zemax or other optical design software is a strong plus.Hands-on experience in rapid prototyping (FDM, SLS or SLA 3D printing primarily, other machining / CAD is a plus).You thrive in a fast-paced environment and you can easily adapt to changing circumstances.You are an enthusiastic and approachable team player with the confidence and assertiveness to motivate others into action.You're fluent in English, both spoken and written.What we offer you
