Solution Architect (Freelance / Payroll)

Your mission :

We are actively looking for a Solution Architect who will join our dedicated Enterprise Architecture Team in Brussels and yourresponsibilities include gathering requirements and functional specifications, assessing the current software systems in place in order to identify areas in need of improvement. You should also be able to regularly update all stakeholders in the company on any developments in systems architecture projects. You have avery collaborative mindset to work with the teams around you.

To be successful as a Solution Architect in this mission, you should be able to clearly understand business needs and translate those into an architecture that fulfils those business needs and can be used by the software engineering & design teams to work on (=key skill).

Your main tasks :

Specifically, as a Solution Architect, your tasks will include :

Translate business requirements into the right Solution Architectures

Building and integrating information systems to meet the company’s needs.

Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical teams to recommend solutions to improve it.

Resolving technical issues as they arise.

Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.

Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.

Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.

Make sure that solutions fit in the long-term company vision & strategy

Create long-term roadmaps

What we are looking for in you :

This is a further list of the experience that we consider important for a Senior Solution Architect :

Bachelor or master’s degree in IT or equivalent experience (experience is more important than education! Certification is a plus).

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an architecture position.

You speak fluent Dutch and English OR French

Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)

Good understanding of methods and tools (e.g. Sparx Enterprise Architect).

Knowledge of project methodologies, e.g. PRINCE2 OR Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Excellent Knowledge of system-to-systems interoperability approaches : Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, Open APIs, complex event processing, Queueing systems, etc. and associated governance

Notions of coding languages (.Net or Java / JEE)

Good knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle

You have experience in enterprise environments, preferably in large international companies.

Strong coaching and communication skills.

Like taking initiative in both new opportunities as well as critical requests.

Be able to deal with pressure and meeting strict deadlines.

You don’t mind working with people in different time zones.
