Job purpose
The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the stable operation of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, virtualization, and cloud environments. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, optimizing system performance, and supporting business-critical applications.
Your responsibilities
System Administration & Support :
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring system stability and security.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and system backups to prevent data loss.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to service requests.
- Support end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Infrastructure Maintenance & Security :
Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, user access controls, and identity management.Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud-based infrastructure (Azure preferred).Implement and enforce IT security policies, including antivirus, firewall, and endpoint protection.Ensure compliance with IT best practices, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.Technical Projects & Documentation :
Assist in IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and cloud integrations.Create and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, procedures, and system configurations.Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to resolve infrastructure challenges and improve efficiency.Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (preferred).Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft MCSA / MCSE, VMware VCP, ITIL) are an advantage.Experience :
3–5 years of experience in system administration or IT support.Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux environments, and Active Directory.Experience with virtualization (VMware) and cloud services (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).Skills :
Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities.Familiarity with ITIL best practices and ticketing systems.Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools is a plus.Understanding of backup solutions, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.Personal Attributes :
