Your function
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business units and senior leadership with legal guidance that balances strategic objectives and risk management. You will serve as a trusted business partner, acting as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for designated business units, while working directly with Managing Directors (MDs) and Finance Directors (DFs).
Key responsibilities include :
- Providing day-to-day legal assistance and strategic advice to the business in one or multiple segments (Fresh, Frozen, Prepared)
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of complex commercial contracts , including complex retail agreements, logistics, warehousing, renewables, and IT / IP
- Handling litigation matters and supporting risk assessments .
- Develop the “legal reflex” of the business by organizing a.o. legal training or providing legal tools (such as legal checklists, model contracts, etc.) in order to help the business to work autonomously.
- Support complex projects locally and abroad from start to finish such as integration of newly acquired companies, development of new products or services, cross-divisional synergy projects, innovation projects, roll-out of implementation of new legislation, etc.
Your profile
Greenyard is looking for a pragmatic and down-to-earth legal professional with the following qualifications :
Experience and Skills :
A Belgian Master’s degree in Law .Between 6 and 12 years of experience , including a first professional experience at the Bar (as a lawyer) and possibly subsequently in an in-house legal role.Large expertise in commercial contract law and solid knowledge of general business law (corporate, M&A, etc.).Experience in working at an international level.Strong ability to navigate and negotiate complex legal scenarios with a business-oriented mindset.Achieving customer excellence : you are able to develop relationships with customers; you continually focus on, understand and respond to customers current and future needs.Languages :
Fluency in Dutch and English is required.Proficiency in French and Spanish is considered an advantage.Personality :
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Pragmatic, flexible, and solution-driven approach.Strong ability to work collaboratively while maintaining a high degree of independence.What's on offer
