Daikin Europe is hiring a Security Architect for its EMEA Development Centre (EDC), located in Ghent, Belgium.

About EDC

The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest growing departments within the EMEA Development Centre of Daikin. The Department is responsible for development and improvement of controls : room controls, unit controls, App and cloud controls.

Your role

As a Security Architect, you are part of an architecture team advising on the security implementation of our IoT developments. You have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and you stay up to date with the best security practices and the latest security standards and systems.

Your main challenges will be :

  • Review security requirements and assess the security posture to identify gaps or improvements.
  • Define and improve the security features of the architectural landscape, taking into account Daikin Europe business priorities.
  • Participate in projects and business initiatives as the security subject matter expert on an architect level.
  • Review business processes from a security perspective and identify threats, risks, and solutions accordingly.
  • Perform R&D in the field of IT security, including the IT security trending topics, including cloud security and IoT.
  • Support the development and implementation of security and compliance legislation, such as ETSI EN 303 645.

We expect that you follow up on the latest IT technologies, with a focus on IT architecture and security.

Minimum Requirements

  • You have a Master’s in Informatics or equivalent through working experience.
  • You have relevant experience in a similar role in the IT security area.
  • You have experience within a product development environment, preferably IoT related (embedded development, Cloud, etc.).
  • You have the skill to proactively follow up on your projects and provide the necessary reporting to management.
  • You are able to work under pressure and have situational awareness.
  • You have good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience in implementing security solutions.
  • You have the decisiveness to select information security practices, technologies, and policies which require confidence in your knowledge and assessments of organizational needs.
  • You are a strong team player, good communicator, and you strive for consensus between the stakeholders in the project.
  • You have an innovative mindset.
  • You have fluent communication and reporting skills (oral and written) in English.
