YOUR TASKS

  • You will spend at least 70% of your assignment on academic research in the field of detailed and coupled numerical simulation of airborne wind energy systems.
  • You will assist in teaching activities at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level in the field of numerical simulation of flows.
  • You will counsel Master’s students in their exercises, internships and Master’s dissertation in the field of numerical simulation of flows.
  • You will work together with the colleagues in the Fluid Mechanics team and support common projects in the team.
  • You will support projects like BORNE and MAVERICK in the Fluid Mechanics team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent degree. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
  • You are interested in scientific and / or project based research and services.
  • You are interested in coaching students in the Bachelor’s, Master’s and / or Advanced Master’s programmes.
  • Experience with teaching and participation in post-formation and conferences is recommended.
  • You have good didactic and communicative skills.
  • You have already conducted research within the field of numerical modelling of airborne wind energy systems. You have research experience with CFD tools using URANS turbulence models and Chimera techniques for overlapping domains, and with the coupling to a controller and structural mechanics.
  • You have published relevant scientific papers in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated.

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 7 months.
  • Your contract will start on 1 / 06 / 2025 at the earliest.
