WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Senior Software Engineer – Ground Segment Systems Join a leading company in the Space and Earth observation sectors, renowned for its innovative contributions to the space industry. Our client is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technologies and solutions that impact both space exploration and earth monitoring, ranked among the top 3 European companies active in modelling and simulation. We are looking for a Senior Engineer specialized in software for ground segment systems, ready to join the Mission & Control team in Hoeilaart. You will contribute to develop Mission & Control Centres, enhancing satellite and mission operations through advanced solutions. YOUR TASKS As a Senior Software Engineer in the context of mission and control centers development, here are some of the concrete tasks to be performed : Define ground segment specifications, analyze interfaces including with flight elements. Participate in the design and definition of the ground segment. Define integration and validation plans at system level. Drive tradeoffs analysis and propose technical choices. Collaborate with our customers to find the perfect solution(s) to their need(s). Interact with space agencies, customers and sub-contractors in exciting space projects. Iterate with the software development team. Work closely with the software development team and follow Agile methodologies. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE The following expertise is mandatory : Knowledge in Java and software design and development. At least 10 years of experience in the European space industry. Expertise in Ground Segment operations (Mission and Control Centre systems). Familiarity with ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) standards. Skills and knowledge : Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics Engineering, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in system / software engineering in a similar environment. Experience with Python, microservices architecture, and cloud technology. Project management experience is a plus. Strong command of technical English.
