We are looking for someone with a background / interest in behavioral science, psychology, business, and an affinity for data analysis and statistics. We especially encourage you to apply if you have a Master degree (or will have such a degree at the start of the academic year 2025-2026) in Psychology, Marketing, Economics, Applied Economics, Commercial Engineering, or Business Administration. The ability to use statistical software (such as R or SAS), knowledge of a programming language (such as Java or Python), and a high level of English proficiency are a plus. We conduct high-quality and managerially relevant research in consumer and managerial judgment and decision-making. Our ambition is to train a world-class behavioral scientist who does research at the intersection of psychology, data science, and business. “World class” means that you will present your research findings at the most influential research centers and conferences around the world (such as the Society of Judgment and Decision Annual Meeting, the Association of Consumer Research Conference, the Behavioral Decision Research in Management Conference, the Society for Consumer Psychology Conference, or the European Marketing Academy Conference), and that you will aim to publish your research findings in the best peer-reviewed scientific journals in business and psychology (such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, or Psychological Science). You will work under the guidance of Prof. dr. Bart De Langhe and Prof. dr. Burcak Bas, and will be supported by a young and dynamic research group, including interns, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, junior and senior faculty. We will help you to develop collaborations with an international network of scholars and industry partners. You will take doctoral courses at KU Leuven (and / or partner universities) in business, psychology, statistics, computer science, and related areas, depending on your interests. In addition to following the doctoral program and working on a doctoral thesis, you will supervise bachelor’s and master’s thesis students, and may have (limited) teaching responsibilities at The Research Center for Marketing.The Research Centre for Marketing, with campuses in Antwerp, Brussels, and Leuven, is a relatively young and ambitious group of scholars.
