Our client in Belgium is looking for a UI / UX designer proficient in Figma, with a strong focus on multi-channel design. The designer will closely collaborate with organizational stakeholders and IT teams to deliver seamless, customer-centric experiences across digital platforms.
As a tech-oriented UI / UX designer, you will balance technical feasibility with business requirements to create innovative and effective design solutions. Your hands-on approach ensures that designs are seamlessly executed from concept to implementation, focusing on user needs, technical constraints, and organizational objectives.
UI / UX Design Creation and Execution
Hands-on Design Work : Lead the design process, from ideation and wire-framing to high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes, primarily using Figma.
Multi-channel Interfaces : Create consistent, responsive interfaces for web, desktop, and digital platforms.
User-Centered Design : Conduct user research, develop personas, and design compelling user flows to understand user needs deeply, goals, and pain points. Ensure visual appeal and alignment with organizational objectives.
Iterative Design Process : Adopt an agile approach to continuously refine designs based on feedback from stakeholders, users, and IT teams.
Collaboration with Business Teams
Understand Organizational Needs : Work closely with stakeholders to comprehend project goals, KPIs, and user requirements, ensuring design solutions align with business strategies.
Design for Impact : Translate business needs into actionable design solutions that improve user experience while meeting organizational objectives.
Present Design Concepts : Clearly communicate design ideas to business teams and stakeholders, advocating for user-centric principles and aligning with organizational goals.
Collaboration with IT and Development Teams
Design Feasibility : Partner with IT and development teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and account for technology stack limitations.
Design Hand off and Support : Provide detailed design specifications, assets, and interactive prototypes in Figma to development teams, ensuring accurate implementation. Offer support to address questions during development.
Technical Alignment : Optimize designs for performance across devices, adhering to platform-specific guidelines (e.g., web, mobile, desktop).
Prototyping, Testing, and Iteration
Interactive Prototypes : Build interactive prototypes in Figma to showcase user flows, interactions, and transitions, enabling early feedback and validation.
User Testing : Conduct usability tests to evaluate design effectiveness, gather user feedback, and iterate designs based on insights to improve functionality and usability.
Feedback Integration : Actively incorporate feedback from business, user, and IT teams to refine designs iteratively.
Design Systems and Component Libraries
Design System Development : Create and maintain a scalable, modular design system in Figma to ensure consistency across the product suite and streamline workflows.
Component Libraries : Develop reusable components and design assets to ensure design and development consistency across platforms and projects.
Collaboration and Documentation
Clear Communication : Regularly update stakeholders and IT teams on design progress, addressing concerns or requirement changes effectively.
Documentation : Document design decisions, systems, and user flows to align team members and support future design initiatives.
Continuous Improvement and Learning
Trend Awareness : Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and best practices, particularly in Figma and multi-channel design, to deliver modern, functional, and accessible designs.
Agile Methodology : Work within agile sprints, participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to improve processes continuously and outcomes.
Requirements
UI / UX Expertise : Strong understanding of principles including user research, wire-framing, prototyping, user flows, interaction, and visual design.
Agile Experience : Familiarity with agile development environments and iterative design processes.
Multi-Channel Design : Proven experience designing across platforms (web, iOS, Android, desktop) to create consistent, adaptive user experiences.
Prototyping and Testing : Expertise in creating interactive prototypes and conducting usability tests to validate and enhance designs.
Figma Proficiency : Advanced skills in Figma for high-fidelity interfaces, prototyping, and design system management.
Front-End Knowledge : Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, Angular, elasticCMS) to ensure design feasibility.
Usability Testing : Experience planning, executing, and analyzing usability tests.
Project Management Tools : Familiarity with tools like Jira, Trello, or Confluence for tracking progress and communication.
