Missions

Function Overview :

You will join the Wakam Underwriting leadership team to help us profitably grow our business across Europe. You will report to the Group CUO.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the underwriting strategy for Specialty lines working with our pricing, product, claims and other related teams. We are looking for an expert in Surety business, experience in other Speciality lines such as Trade Credit or Cyber would be welcome.
  • Growing the lines of business profitably and in-line with our financial objectives.
  • Full portfolio management of lines of business, working with our pricing actuaries.
  • Full accountability for the underwriting results for your lines of business.
  • Acting as a product and market expert across Europe.
  • Interacting with the market (MGAs, Brokers and Direct clients).

Profile

  • Underwriting experience with an insurance company in a similar role.
  • Advanced underwriting experience of relevant products.
  • Strong analytical and portfolio management skills.
  • Must have a strong understanding of disruptive trends within insurance.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Advanced Stakeholder management skills, internally and externally.
  • French or other European languages is an advantage but not essential.
