Responsibilities
- Research and draft background materials on the ERCST Workstreams, including Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, Border Carbon Adjustments, Mobility, etc.;
- Maintain liaison with stakeholders such as policymakers, business associations, environmental NGOs, etc. in his / her area of work;
- Responsibility for the ERCST communication channels, including social media.
Skills and requirements :
Educational) background includes preference for political economy, environmental economics, or similar – a good understanding of economics is important;Interest in climate and energy policy and politics - existing knowledge of climate change policy and market approaches to climate change is desirable;Native speaker standard of English - proficiency in other languages will be considered an advantage;Be well-organised and able to pay attention to detail;Ability to work in a demanding environment, take initiative and solve problems while under pressure;Ability to internalise substantial amounts of (new) materials and think laterally;Authorisation to live and work in Belgium.Start date : Interviews start as applications are received. Work will start as soon as possible after a suitable candidate is found.
Compensation : Competitive, depending on the level, experience, and background of the candidate.
Workplace : ERCST offices are located in the EU quarter in Brussels, easily accessible by public transport.
