As a Specialist Sustainability & ESG Reporting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our research is conducted in a sustainable and responsible manner.

What you will do

As a Specialist Sustainability & ESG Reporting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our research is conducted in a sustainable and responsible manner thereby driving our industry towards net zero and compliant with all aspect of Environmental, Societal and Governance (ESG) related matters.

In your role as specialist, you will advise internal stakeholders on the correct and consistent interpretation of ESG reporting standards and requirements. You will monitor best practice and future developments in ESG reporting requirements and translate them into impact for imec. Moreover, you will contribute to driving improvements in ESG disclosure and transparency by managing the data collection and audit workstream for our annual sustainability report and integrated reporting. You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including researchers, engineers, financial advisors and IT specialists to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial (and non-financial) data across imec operations for external reporting. You will work in a dynamic and innovative environment with world-class experts.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the implementation of a compliant ESG reporting framework, including robust and auditable standards to enable credible external ESG reporting.
  • Follow ESG reporting trends and developments in the ESG data disclosure landscape, benchmark best practices and provide recommendations on continuous improvement of ESG data disclosures.
  • Maintain the sustainability reporting manual and actively communicate internally the reporting standards and best practices; This includes :
  • Keeping up to date with the CSRD, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD and other relevant legislation with respect to ESG reporting.
  • Benchmark reporting processes and systems with peers.
  • Align with the Chief Sustainability Officer and Chief Marketing Officer regarding the strategic focus of the report.
  • Ensuring that robust, timely and verifiable data is collected for the internal and external reporting. Setup and maintain documentation of the imec sustainability reporting process and procedures for data collection, verification and audit.
  • Taking ownership of the process for collecting the sustainability data for the annual integrated report (quantitative as well as qualitative) in collaboration with the sustainability team and relevant subject matter experts throughout the entire organization.Starting from the requirements of CSRD, prepare an overview of the data needed in the integrated report (table of contents).At regular timeframes perform a gap analysis to keep abreast with legislative requirements.Make a data-flow overview, describing the current way and timing in which data is being collected. Together with enterprise architects, setup a system for robustly processing and reporting data, including digital tagging requirement, and optimize the process and architecture where needed.
  • Providing ESG training and workshops regarding ESG reporting throughout the organization.
  • Be the primary contact person for all ESG reporting related matters in the organization.
  • Liaise with the external audit team on sustainability topics and supervise the audit process.

Who you are

Education :

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent).
  • Sustainability / ESG education is a plus.
  • Experience :

  • Relevant work experience in sustainability reporting at a corporate or big 4 company.
  • Experience in implementing (sustainability) reporting requirements and data reporting.
  • Proven track record within Sustainability Reporting frameworks and ESG indices is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CSRD and / or other frameworks related to non-financial reporting (TCFD, SBTi, CDP, GRI...) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage projects simultaneously and collaborate across functions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Eye for detail and correctness of data.
  • Willingness to invest in life-long learning.
  • Stress-resistant and able to cope with deadlines.
