Microsoft Data Engineer

For one of our customers, a multinational with headquarters in Brussels, we are looking for a Microsoft Data Engineer with experience in Power BI and Databricks.

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and improvements of data models with the ultimate goal of enabling the end users to do self-service analytics in Power BI.

You have the right technical skills to assess the data needs of the business unit and give your expert advice on data extraction, transformation, and loading.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing efficient ETL processes and data models that support data integration, analysis, and reporting needs.

You help identify data dependencies, perform data modeling, data mapping, and validate reports / dashboard results.

You work closely with the internal teams to create the necessary dashboards in Power BI.

You keep an eye on data governance rules.

Required skills

Master’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Sciences, Applied Economics or any related area.

Knowledge of dimensional data models, data management, and cloud computing.

Experience with Power BI and Databricks is required; experience with TimeXtender, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory is an asset.

Fluent in English and Dutch.

Practical

Full-time, based in Brussels or in Antwerp.

This position is available as either a full-time employee on payroll or a freelance contractor, depending on the candidate's preference and availability.
