Take your financial expertise to the next level in a high-impact role within a fast-growing infrastructure investment fund.

Are you ready to take your financial expertise beyond the numbers? As a  Business Controller  for our client - a Brussels-based Infrastructure Investment Fund - you’ll work at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations. You’ll support data-driven decision-making and ensure business performance is closely monitored, understood, and optimized.

This is a high-exposure role reporting to the CFO, where your insights will directly contribute to value creation across the Fund’s portfolio.

Your Role :

As Business Controller, your mission will be to provide the Fund’s leadership with actionable insights into performance, risks, and opportunities across the business.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • Develop and deliver regular business performance reports, combining financial results and operational KPIs.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles across the Fund’s operations and portfolio companies.
  • Build robust models to challenge assumptions and support strategic planning.
  • Business Partnering
  • Act as a financial sparring partner for investment, asset management and operations teams.
  • Translate financial data into strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Variance Analysis
  • Monitor deviations between forecasts and actuals. Provide clear variance analysis and propose corrective actions where necessary.
  • Project Support
  • Contribute to ad hoc analyses related to new investments, refinancing, ESG-related initiatives, or operational efficiency projects.
  • Tool & Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement enhancements to financial processes, dashboards, and reporting tools.

Team and Work Culture :

  • You will report to the CFO and collaborate closely with multiple internal stakeholders (investment, operations, ESG).
  • Our team combines  high standards with a human approach  – ambition without ego.
  • We operate in hybrid mode :   3 days / week minimum on-site in Brussels , with  up to 2 remote days , as long as team dynamics are preserved.

    • What You Bring :

  • A degree in Finance , Economics, Business Engineering, or a related field
  • 3 to 6 years of experience  in business control, FP&A, consulting or audit in similar environement (infrastructure fund or real estate)
  • Strong analytical and Excel modeling skills; experience with dashboards or BI tools is a plus
  • Proactive mindset, business acumen, and the ability to challenge the status quo
  • Strong communication skills, able to simplify complex information for decision-makers
  • Fluent in  English  and  Dutch / French (Dutch is a strong asset)
