Qargo is a tech start-up with offices based in London and Ghent. We are on a mission to transform the transportation industry by making it more efficient, profitable, and sustainable. Together we are building the most user-friendly and intuitive Transport Management System (TMS) on the market that automates administrative processes and optimizes planning. To help us achieve our mission and support our growth we’re looking for a Software Engineer, especially Backend .

What you’ll do

You'll be focused on back-end development of the system, contributing to the core functionality of our TMS platform and working mainly with Python, Django, GraphQL, Postgres, Kubernetes (k8s), PubSub, and Google Cloud.

You’ll work on core product features, Cloud infrastructure improvements and Backend code improvements , ensuring all systems can support the growth of our customer base.

What We’re Looking For

You have a Master’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Software Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in backend development .

Passion for solving complex technical challenges and designing scalable software solutions. You understand technical tradeoffs and make pragmatic decisions.

A growth mindset —eager to learn, experiment, and expand your knowledge.

Strong problem-solving and communicationskills and the ability to work independently and in a team.

A user-first mentality —you care about the real-world impact of your work.

Enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork and a willingness to share knowledge and accomplish shared goals .

Experience with writing and understanding complex SQL queries in Postgres & Google Cloud BigQuery is a plus.

Knowledge of distributed queueing systems at scale is a nice to have.

Lastly, experience with large production Python codebases also earns you bonus points.
