Location : Brussels (Hybrid – 50% remote)

Start Date : ASAP

Contract Type : Freelance or Payroll

The Project

You will join a high-impact open banking initiative within a large-scale digital finance environment. The project aims to deliver secure, cloud-ready web applications that streamline complex financial operations while ensuring scalability and performance.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Take ownership of technical delivery from design to deployment
  • Lead a cross-functional team of developers in an Agile environment
  • Estimate effort, plan sprints, and ensure delivery of business-critical features
  • Drive best practices in development, architecture, security, and testing
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure maintainability, scalability, and performance
  • Promote test-driven development (TDD), DevOps automation, and CI / CD
  • Coach team members and contribute to their technical growth
  • Coordinate production releases and support issue resolution
  • Communicate with architects, product managers, and other stakeholders

Your Profile :

  • 5+ years of software development experience, including backend and full-stack
  • 1+ year in a team lead or mentoring capacity
  • Strong in backend development with Ruby on Rails or Elixir
  • Proficient with Vue.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular)
  • Strong understanding of scalable architecture and secure coding practices
  • Comfortable working in Agile setups with tools like Jira, GitLab, etc.
  • Fluent in English and either Dutch or French
  • Bonus : Experience in DevOps, Open Banking, and observability tools

    Languages & Frameworks : Ruby, Elixir, Vue.js

    DevOps & Monitoring : GitLab CI / CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Kibana

    Practices : Agile, TDD, CI / CD, Microservices, Secure Coding

    Other Tools : Jira, Git, Test Automation, REST APIs
