YOUR JOB

  • We are seeking a motivated and talented PhD student with a (bio)medical background and a strong interest in biomarker research.
  • This translational research project focuses on exploring the potential of glycomics-based biomarkers in the rare liver disease Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).
  • This project is embedded in a well-established research line and offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact study that could significantly improve the understanding and care of PSC patients.
  • What You’ll Do

Conduct translational research with a focus on data analysis and biomarker discovery

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians
  • Engage with the International PSC Study Group, a global research consortium
  • Work in both wet lab and database-driven environments, with a primary focus on data
  • The goal of this work is to obtain a PhD
  • Job profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree (preferably) in medicine, biomedical sciences, pharmacy or a related field
  • A strong interest in liver disease, biomarkers, and translational research
  • Motivation, enthusiasm, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Prior experience in laboratory or data analysis work is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage
  • WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer a full-time position as a doctoral fellow, consisting of an initial period of 12 months, which - after a positive evaluation, will be extended to a total maximum of 48 months.
  • Your contract will start on September 1, 2025 at the earliest.
  • The fellowship amount is 100% of the net salary of an AAP member in equal family circumstances. The individual fellowship amount is determined by Team Personnel Administration based on family status and seniority. A grant that meets the conditions and criteria of the regulations for doctoral fellowships is considered free of personal income tax. Click here for more information about our salary scales
