Freelance Opportunity – Hydrogeologist (Remote, 12-Month Contract)

About the Role :

A leading European engineering consultancy specializing in underground infrastructure and environmental geosciences is seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to join its team on a fully remote, freelance basis .

This is a 12-month contract supporting large-scale tunneling and infrastructure projects , with a strong focus on hydrogeological modeling and groundwater risk assessment in complex geotechnical environments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop, calibrate, and interpret FEFLOW-based groundwater models
• Simulate unsaturated and saturated flow regimes in diverse geological contexts
• Evaluate hydrogeological risks such as groundwater inflows, drawdown, and deformation
• Integrate hydrogeological data into 3D models and geotechnical design processes
• Plan and support field investigations, including piezometer installation and data interpretation
• Monitor construction-phase groundwater behavior and update models accordingly
• Document findings and deliver technical reports in English
