Objective
The Import Customs Declarant is responsible for preparing and processing all types of customs declarations, ensuring full compliance with import, export, and transit regulations.
This role plays a crucial part in facilitating smooth cross-border operations and supporting our customers by managing customs formalities efficiently and accurately.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations for import, export, and transit shipments.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Customer Service) to resolve customs-related issues and support shipment clearance.
- Apply correct customs tariffs using the official tariff nomenclature.
- Ensure all customs documents meet compliance standards and are properly declared.
- Monitor and stay updated on changes in customs regulations and trade laws to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Organize and prioritize daily tasks according to operational deadlines and urgency.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of customs documentation and procedures.Ability to verify customs tariffs and HS codes using Tarbel.Solid understanding of customs legislation and international trade regulations.Familiarity with local customs and excise regulations.Proficiency in at least one foreign language (English & Dutch preferred).Effective use of professional terminology in English and Dutch for clear communication with customers, customs authorities, and colleagues.Familiarity with a wide range of customs concepts, practices, and procedures.Proven ability to communicate, present, and influence at all organizational levels.Skilled in organizing, preparing, and compiling reports using data from various sources.Benefits
