Image Pattern Recognition Software Developer (Consultancy)

The IMEC Wafer Service team performs repetitive review of wafer images / defect images of production wafers before shipment to its partners. This manual review of images is to detect defective wafers but is prone to human error and slip-throughs. We require a simple software classification solution to replace the manual human review of wafer images / defect images. Our expectation is to start this as a small software project with a defined and limited scope, hence we are looking for a single developer to fulfil different roles.

The assignment

• Understand user needs and project scope, together with the Project Manager
• Perform pragmatic and cost-effective review of different software tools / platforms / open-source options, that are needed in developing the required software solution.
• Develop a robust software solution for use in production situations (in a manufacturing plant), from scratch.
• Develop automated tests to verify functionality of software solution.
• Create an easy-to-use User Interface.
• Provide training on the use of final software solution to end-users.
