We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Brussels-based team. This role focuses on the operational and financial management of EED’s internal costs — from procurement and budget monitoring to audit preparation and internal controls. You’ll work closely with colleagues across finance, operations and programme teams to keep things running smoothly, transparently and on time.

What You’ll Do
You’ll report to the Director of Operations and work under the guidance of the Chief Operations Officer. Your key responsibilities will include :
- Tracking and monitoring EED’s operational expenditure, ensuring correct allocations across budget lines
- Preparing regular financial reports on budget execution and donor compliance
- Drafting and contributing to operational budgets and funding proposals for donors
- Coordinating procurement and contracting processes for services and consultants — especially in EED countries of operation
- Performing compliance checks on contracts and financial documentation
- Updating and maintaining contract and supplier databases
- Supporting audits and ensuring documentation readiness
- Providing analytical insight into operational spending and consultant expenses
- Coordinating finance and logistics input into EED’s internal events / mission database
- Contributing to financial reports for the European Commission and other donors
- Supporting the wider finance and operations team with other tasks as needed
What You Bring
You have :
A university degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration or a related fieldAt least 1 year of full-time professional experience in financial management, audit or grant oversightSolid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other standard financial toolsFamiliarity with European Commission Financial Regulations or similar donor compliance systemsFull professional fluency in EnglishYou are :
