Carmeuse is searching for a Tax Accountant to join its Group Tax Department based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. The role includes responsibilities for subject areas within the Carmeuse Group Tax Department as delegated by the Group Tax Director.
As a Tax Accountant, you will be part of a small tax team that ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations by preparing or reviewing tax returns, other required filings, workpapers, documents, and tax-related accounting necessary to support tax positions. You will also be responsible for researching, managing audits, and providing guidance to internal and external resources. Your ability to manage tax matters with limited reliance on external service providers is essential. Under the supervision of the Group Tax Director, your role will include the following tasks and responsibilities :
You should have a thorough understanding of current laws, regulations, and tax requirements, as well as strong analytical skills. Even if tax accounting experience is not a prerequisite, you are expected to demonstrate a good understanding of accounting to perform your tasks and interact with internal stakeholders, including the Group Accounting & Consolidation Department.

Group Tax Department is composed of a Group Tax Director, based in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), a Senior Tax Manager and a Tax Manager, both based in Pittsburgh (PA – United States) and who are mainly responsible for US, Canadian and South America tax matters.
Your manager will be Frédéric Parotte :
Frédéric is our Group Tax Director and is a member of Barbara Jonnart (our Group CFO) team.
He drives the development and leads the implementation of the group’s tax strategy, working hand-in-hands with business. He supervises the US tax team located in Pittsburgh and works in close collaboration with all Finance Leaders.
Frédéric, who joined Carmeuse in September 2024, brings an experience of 20 years in International Taxation, both in industry and tax advisory firms. He is open-minded, supportive for his team members, and helps them to grow through challenging projects and promoting own initiatives.
