Operational Space Systems Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities :

• Define mission objectives, performance criteria, safety goals, and operational constraints, while developing functional specifications and maintaining documentation
• Conduct mission analysis, including orbital effects, constellation design, launch possibilities, and subsystem budget assessments
• Oversee system design and development, including spacecraft, ground segment, operations environment, and interface specifications
• Manage procurement, supplier coordination, and industry partnerships, ensuring proper testing, integration, and compliance with regulations
• Lead troubleshooting, performance optimization, simulations, and testing across space and ground systems
• Develop algorithms, research solutions, and contribute to proposal writing, funding applications, and technical documentation
• Perform project management tasks, risk assessment, and reporting, while coordinating with ESA, partners, and customers for mission execution
• Oversee AIT activities, qualification campaign and environmental tests
