Buyer - Food Industry - Brussels 🥦

Key Responsibilities :

Identify and select reliable suppliers for food and beverage products (fresh, frozen, dry goods, etc.)

Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure the best value for the company

Monitor inventory levels and place purchase orders in a timely manner

Collaborate closely with internal departments (sales, warehouse, logistics, quality control) to forecast demand and ensure product availability

Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply issues or disputes

Analyze market trends and conduct regular benchmarking to optimize purchasing strategies

Maintain accurate records of orders, contracts, and supplier information

Participate in the development of new product ranges and support product innovation initiatives

Qualifications :

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing role, ideally within the food or FMCG sector

Strong negotiation and communication skills

Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset

Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems is an advantage

Fluent in Dutch; knowledge of French, English is a plus
