Context :

This engagement aims to ensure operational continuity of the existing mission-critical infrastructure based on legacy and modern hardware platforms, while also preparing for a potential evolution toward a new technological stack. The role involves not only day-to-day support of the environment but also active participation in forward-looking initiatives, including assessment and planning for platform transitions.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide ad hoc expertise and technical assistance related to a proprietary UNIX-based infrastructure and its surrounding ecosystem.
  • Support activities may span a wide range of domains, such as enterprise storage, networking, identity services, automation frameworks, middleware platforms, configuration tools, encryption & certificates, security hardening, and application servers.

Profiles :

  • French / Dutch : Full professional proficiency in one of the two, and strong operational capability in the other (comprehension, verbal interaction, technical writing, reading complex documentation).
  • English : Strong operational proficiency.
  • High availability architectures and resilience mechanisms (e.g., redundancy models, clustering, etc.)
  • Automation-focused approach (e.g., provisioning, configuration management, packaging workflows)
  • Solid understanding and application of security concepts (e.g., certificate management, network segmentation, access control systems)
  • Advanced scripting and programming capabilities (e.g., shell scripting, version control, infrastructure-as-code tools)
  • Hands-on knowledge in storage and data protection solutions (e.g., volume handling, snapshot strategies, data recovery tooling)
  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade applications typically deployed in UNIX environments (e.g., RDBMS, web / application servers, message queuing systems)
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Clear communication within and beyond technical teams
  • Autonomy in task execution
  • Analytical and solution-driven thinking
  • Detail-oriented and structured working style
  • Capable of producing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation
  • Over a decade of experience in administering UNIX-based systems
  • At least 5 years in a DevOps-centric operational environment
