Purchasing Specialist

Job Description:Proclinical is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support supply chain operations by managing supplier relationships and executing purchasing strategies. This role involves onboarding new suppliers, analyzing supplier performance, and contributing to financial reporting. You will collaborate with operational teams, business units, packaging engineering teams, and suppliers to ensure efficient procurement processes and compliance with internal and external guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full procurement cycle, including order placement, delivery, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Oversee supplier onboarding, evaluation, and performance management.
• Forecast purchasing needs based on historical data and business plans.
• Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, safety, and health guidelines.
• Maintain accurate system data and adhere to supplier management procedures.
• Train internal stakeholders on purchasing policies and tools.
• Validate financial and operational data for accuracy and integrity.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Drive operational efficiency and cost reduction through project participation.
• Lead or support ad hoc purchasing and supplier management initiatives.
• Align purchasing goals with business objectives and long-term sourcing strategies.
• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Background in supply chain, economics, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong knowledge of office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with ISO13485 standards is advantageous.
• Fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written); French is a plus.
• Analytical mindset with a structured approach to process improvement.
• Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workload effectively.
• Customer-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Financial acumen and attention to detail.
• Calm under pressure with a hands-on, optimistic attitude.
• Must be able to commute to Machelen.
