Business Analyst (Insurance Transformation – Brussels Area) – Freelance

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a customer in the insurance sector on a long-term freelance assignment. The consultant will work on a transformation program focused on replacing legacy systems and improving policy, claims, and customer management processes.

The Business Analyst will work between business and IT teams to define, document, and translate requirements into functional solutions that support the transformation roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements for insurance processes such as policy, claims, and billing.
• Work with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to align requirements and solutions.
• Lead workshops to collect and validate functional needs.
• Translate requirements into clear documentation and user stories.
• Map current and future business processes.
• Support testing and validation activities.
• Maintain traceability and version control of all documentation.

Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in insurance or financial services.
• Knowledge of insurance products, processes, and systems.
• Experience with process mapping and functional documentation.
• Background in system replacement or migration projects is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills.
• English required; Dutch and/or French are assets.
