YOUR TASKS

At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on research.

The main project aims to uncover the neuro-cognitive processes of how social interaction affects individual cognition. Over the last decade, an increasing amount of work has revealed how individual cognition is influenced by the presence of others. Not only do we rapidly identify others in our environment, but we seem to spontaneously track others’ perspectives and mental states without being aware of it. Although evidence for this phenomenon have been accumulated at the level of behavior, the neural mechanisms supporting the effect of others on individual cognition are far from being understood. The project will use a combination of various neuroscientific methods, including behavioral testing, EEG, fMRI and TMS to understand how and why the presence of others affect the way we perceive and represent the world around us.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of experiments, collection and analysis of data, publication and dissemination of the results. Within and beyond the scope of the project, we will do our best to support the postdoctoral researcher in developing his / her own ideas and new experiments. The candidate shall also be committed to contribute to students’ supervision, grant writing and support of lab activities.
