AB InBev is seeking a Raw Materials Specialist in the Global Innovation & Technology Center (GITEC), in Belgium.
Purpose :
As a Raw Materials Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, innovation, and sustainability of our raw material supply chain. You will be responsible for driving technical developments in raw material sourcing, evaluating new ingredients, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to optimize raw material utilization across global operations. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing our brewing processes, improving efficiency, and developing solutions that align with AB InBev’s long-term sustainability and innovation goals.
The role :
Drive technical innovation and quality improvements in raw materials such as malt, hops, adjuncts, and brewing auxiliaries.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (GPO, B&Q, VOPs, GBS, SCV, ZITECs) and external partners to identify new opportunities in raw material sourcing and utilization.
Conduct benchmarking exercises and scouting for innovative raw material solutions to enhance beer quality and efficiency.
Support the implementation of Value Engineering (VE) and Value Process Optimization (VPO) initiatives related to raw materials.
Lead sustainability initiatives in raw material selection, focusing on reducing environmental impact while maintaining high product standards.
Participate in university collaborations, research projects, and talent development programs to advance knowledge in raw material science.
Contribute to the long-term innovation pipeline by developing technical solutions for raw material-related challenges.
Who we’re looking for :
Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in brewing, malting, food production, or raw material quality assessment.
Strong technical knowledge of raw material properties, brewing science, and process optimization.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence diverse stakeholders in a global environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Passion for innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Fluent in English; other languages are an asset.
