Job Title : IT Security Lead

Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced IT Security Lead to oversee and enhance our cleint's information security strategies, ensuring the protection of their systems, networks, and data assets. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a solid understanding of the regulatory landscape in Belgium and the EU (including GDPR and NIS2).
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's information security program.
Manage risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments.
Coordinate incident response and recovery procedures; lead investigations of security breaches.
Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, and other relevant frameworks.
Oversee access control, identity management, encryption, and endpoint protection strategies.
Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business teams to ensure security is embedded in all technology initiatives.
Lead a team of security analysts and engineers; provide mentorship and training.
Monitor emerging threats and proactively recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Liaise with external partners, vendors, and auditors on security matters.
Ensure compliance with Belgian and EU regulations, including data privacy and critical infrastructure protection.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
Strong knowledge of network and application security, risk management, and threat analysis.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, NIS2, and industry standards like ISO 27001, CIS, or NIST.
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or ISO / IEC 27001 Lead Implementer are highly desirable.
Fluency in English is required; Dutch and / or French is a strong plus.
Preferred Skills :
Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid or remote setup.
Knowledge of Belgian and EU cybersecurity legal frameworks.
