In order to reinforce our Production Team in Belgium, we are looking for a :   Production Engineer (Metallurgy)  (m / f)

Areas of responsibility

Production organisation / production management

  • Organize and optimise production : working with the support departments, allocate the necessary resources in terms of quality and quantity, in terms of human resources, equipment and materials. Manage and ensure compliance with the production plan within its scope.
  • Identify and analyze bottlenecks.
  • Optimise material and human resources within its scope.

Employee management

  • Manage, train, coach and monitor direct reports (production operators in his sector and forklift operators).
  • Establish all types of training needs : technical, safety, management, 5S, etc.
  • Participate in recruitment within its scope.
  • Identify shortages and determine multi-skilling requirements (people and machines) within its scope.
  • Financial aspect

  • Ensure compliance with established ranges and financial targets in terms of production variances, inventory variances (overconsumption) and other factors, by systematically analysing production variances.
  • Play an active role in drawing up annual budgets for the sector.
  • Quality and continuous improvement

  • Organize the daily analysis of non-conformities in the sector with the help of the Quality department ; participate in the implementation of solutions to non-conformities and following them up.
  • Participate in the implementation of action plans, their follow-up and monitoring.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement dynamic within the team.
  • Encourage operators to be proactive in detecting and reporting faced problems.
  • Provide and explain the first elements of continuous improvement methods to his team (Program + progress routes, 5 "whys").
  • Reporting, KPIs / performance management

  • In agreement with his / her manager, set the sector's annual targets, propose them to Management, communicate them to the team and monitor them on a monthly basis using the Dashboard; take all necessary measures.
  • Action plans : carry out an exhaustive analysis of production variances relating to the sector and formalise them in the form of action plans.
  • The same applies to any other specific report relating to production in the sector.
  • Mobilise his / her teams to achieve the performance targets for his area.
  • Application of standards

  • Ensure the necessary vigilance in the application of standards within its scope.
  • Implement actions to return to the standard, alone or with the team.
  • Formalise a standard based on audit results and gap analysis.

  • Create a positive and constructive team spirit, enabling the team to achieve its objectives.
  • Ensure that changing teams does not degrade performance.
  • How you make an impact

  • Convert the manufacturing schedule into actual production on time and to the required quality, taking into account safety and tidiness.
  • Respect the established budget in terms of expenditure on consumables and other materials. Actively participate in drawing up annual budgets for his / her sector, -Production variances, Inventory variances
  • Ensure that the sector always has competent and motivated staff to achieve the site's objectives, -Staff absenteeism, Staff satisfaction in relation to development plans.
  • Improve the sector's quality and productivity, -Monitor major actions, Lead action and progress groups
  • Qualification

  • Industrial Engineer
  • At least 5 years of experience with a minimum of 3 as the head of a production sector
  • Fluent in English and French
  • IT litterate : Microsoft tools and SAP
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Workplace :  Charleroi
