Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer

Rotation : Monday-Friday. 8 hours a day.

Description
As an E&I Engineer for this client in Olen, you will be responsible for managing electrical and instrumentation projects from concept to completion. You will act as the discipline lead for E&I within large-scale industrial investment projects (up to €30 million), working in close collaboration with the Project Manager, who retains overall project responsibility. This is not a design-only role — we are looking for an engineer who can technically lead and coordinate the E&I scope within multidisciplinary projects.
Primary Task & Responsibilities
- Independently lead the electrical and instrumentation (E&I) discipline from A to Z, from feasibility studies through to commissioning and handover.
- Make technical decisions regarding materials and applications based on environmental conditions.
- Collaborate closely with internal project teams (mechanical, site, design), the Project Manager, and external partners.
- Interpret and assess electrical schematics and cable calculations, including those made in Caneco, and provide solutions where needed.
- Ensure compliance with ATEX regulations in all relevant project phases.
- Support projects related to process installations (e.g. anole battery-related projects).
- Work from the transformer level, focusing mainly on low voltage with basic knowledge of high voltage.
- Prepare technical specifications and tender documents, define and monitor project budgets, and track project planning and milestones.
- Provide accurate interpretation of SIL, PL, and Exi calculations to ensure functional safety and compliance.
- Occasional (exceptional) travel within Europe and Asia for project follow-up. Technical profile requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent through experience, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of both electrical systems and industrial instrumentation is essential.
- Experience in project work within an industrial setting.
- Ability to interpret (but not necessarily design) electrical schematics (EPLAN).
- Familiarity with Caneco for cable calculations and the ability to interpret its outputs.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with ATEX guidelines and compliance.
- Proven ability to interpret SIL / PL / Exi safety calculations.
Non-Technical profile requirements
