PROCESS ENGINEER - ANTWERP (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
We're currently recruiting for a Process Engineer who will play a central role in shaping how work is designed, executed, and continuously improved across the organization. This position is focused on creating clarity and flow in complex, cross-functional environments where multiple teams contribute to delivering customer or project outcomes.
In this role, you will look at the full operational lifecycle, from initial request or opportunity through to final delivery, and ensure that each step is aligned, efficient, and predictable. You will not only analyze how work is currently performed but also challenge existing ways of working and redesign them where necessary to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce delays, and improve overall performance.
Ultimately, the Process Engineer acts as a catalyst for operational excellence, bringing structure to complexity, improving cross-functional flow, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a complete view of operational processes across all stages of delivery.
Identify inefficiencies, disconnects, and variation points within cross-functional workflows.
Translate complex operational flows into clear, structured process models that support improvement.
Track execution against plans and identify deviations such as delays, capacity constraints, or coordination issues.
Analyze root causes of disruptions and distinguish between recurring systemic problems and isolated cases.
Support the reliability of planning processes by highlighting gaps between planning assumptions and real execution.
Lead initiatives aimed at improving flow efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing predictability.
Structure and manage a pipeline of improvement actions, prioritizing based on business impact.
Support the creation and rollout of standardized processes and best practices.
Work closely with multiple teams including engineering, supply chain, operations, planning, and commercial functions.
Facilitate workshops and alignment sessions to define, refine, and implement process improvements.
Define and support the implementation of key performance indicators that reflect true process performance.
Contribute to building a data-driven approach to operational decision-making.
Help embed continuous improvement practices into daily operations.
Requirements :
Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent).
2+ years of experience as a Process Engineer or a similar position.
Strong experience in end-to-end process mapping and analysis.
Exposure to project-based, customized, or complex operational environments is an advantage.
Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset with a structured approach to problem solving.
Solid understanding of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., VSM, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, A3, FMEA).
Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Strong organizational skills and high sense of ownership.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, comfortable engaging with both operational teams and management.
