Chief Engineer / Technical Manager / Head of Maintenance
Warwick Brussels – Grand Place | Warwick Hotels & Resorts
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Warwick Hotel is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee all technical operations at Warwick Brussels – Grand Place, our flagship hotel located in the heart of Brussels. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys managing building systems, leading maintenance teams, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and guest comfort within a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Operations: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, and building infrastructure. Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate repairs with contractors while ensuring uninterrupted operation of all critical building systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Belgian fire, electrical, gas, and safety regulations. Maintain safety documentation, technical registers, and coordinate regulatory inspections and emergency procedures.
- Projects & Facilities Management: Manage maintenance budgets and supplier contracts. Supervise renovation projects, maintenance upgrades, and CAPEX works. Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability improvements.
- Team Leadership: Lead and support the hotel maintenance team and external contractors. Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and F&B teams to support smooth daily operations.
Candidate Profile
• 3–5+ years of experience in engineering, technical management, or facilities management
• Experience in hotel, hospitality, or large commercial buildings preferred
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and building maintenance
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance teams
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
Languages:
• French and English required
• Dutch is a plus
What We Offer
• Salary: €5,500 – €6,500 gross per month depending on experience
• Full‑time permanent contract (CDI)
