For our Group Legal & Compliance department (Zaventem, Belgium), we are looking for a legal counsel to assist our business commercial & regulatory workstreams.
You will be working as part of a mid-sized legal & compliance team. The team is growing due to changed & increased demand following internal business transformations.
Your key responsibilities will consist of :
Commercial :
Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with our customers and suppliers, and provide concise and smart guidance to the group’s stakeholders to navigate through the legal process.
Supporting the group’s workstreams to harmonize & standardize products, policies & procedures, go-to-market, enabling platforms and other elements of the commercial process with clear & pragmatic legal advice.
Lead in structuring and strengthening the sales channels and procurement offices on how they manage their legal documentation, and provide guidelines to further professionalize their way of working.
Regulatory :
Mapping of key regulatory obligations for the group, and in particular relating to data & telecom, and track upcoming changes to said regulations.
Co-develop a knowledge centre for relevant EU / Belgian rules, regulations and best practices in collaboration with industry experts.
Help set-up regulatory compliancy roadmaps and report on progress & outstanding risks, in close collaboration with local teams and the group team that manages our compliance framework.
General :
Promoting a “One Dstny” mindset in the legal office, by assisting in the development of international templates, exchanging knowledge & best practices and improve integration trajectories.
Co-managing tools to facilitate the commercial and regulatory workstreams (such as reporting trackers, document repositories, contract management and e-sign / e-archive tools).
Following-up and reporting on ongoing projects with external law firms together with your direct legal colleagues and management; and
Drafting group policies together with the technical, IT and compliance teams.
Qualifications
Master's degree in law.
Min. 3 years of experience in commercial or regulatory advisory legal work.
Proficient in the legal framework regarding data in the EU (expertise in the area of telecommunications is a plus).
Proficient in English and Dutch (good working knowledge of French is a plus).
A strong communicator and team player.

A critical and pragmatic thinker.
