Functieomschrijving

This entry level position will support, monitor, and troubleshoot the Cisco networking infrastructure, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for Construction and Operation Readiness.

• Daily operations :
• Monitor Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers and access points using network monitoring tools and respond promptly to alerts.
• Field services including installation and decommissioning work.
• Configuration & change management : assist senior engineers in applying configuration changes, firmware upgrades, and patches on Cisco IOS / XE devices, following documented change control procedures.
• Troubleshooting : diagnose and resolve Layer 2 / 3 wired and wireless connectivity issues, VLAN mismatches, Wi-Fi coverage and routing problems (OSPF, …).
• Security enforcement : verify ACLs, NAT policies, 802.1x and VPNVLAN configurations are correctly implemented and aligned with security standards.
• Documentation : keep network diagrams, device inventories, and configuration backups up to date.
• Monitoring & reporting : generate regular performance and capacity reports (bandwidth utilisation, latency, error rates) and flag trends for proactive scaling.
• Support & ticketing : log work in the ITSM system, communicate status to requestors, and close tickets with clear resolution notes.
