Automation Engineer

Good Afternoon network,

A client of mine within the Manufacturing sector. They are looking for a highly skilled IT / OT Automation Engineer to join our growing technical team and play a critical role in driving digital transformation across our industrial platforms. You’ll help bridge the gap between shop-floor equipment and enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow, system reliability, and operational efficiency.

Required background :

• Design, implement, and optimize PLC , SCADA , and HMI systems for automation projects
• Integrate OT systems with enterprise IT infrastructure (ERP, MES, Cloud, etc.)
• Support deployment and configuration of edge computing , IIoT , and real-time data platforms
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and production teams to secure and maintain system integrity
• Troubleshoot complex system issues across layers — from sensors to cloud
• Participate in digitalization initiatives such as Industry 4.0 , predictive maintenance, and machine learning readiness
• Proficient in PLC platforms (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and SCADA (e.g. WinCC, FactoryTalk, Ignition)

The role requires English speaking only however Dutch is a plus. Two days minimum is required on site as company policy, with more likely 3 days during the initial ramp up phase.
