Interim Finance Manager - PE Backed

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will play a key role in strengthening the finance function, improving financial controls, and supporting decision‑making across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a Big 4 trained finance professional who wants to step into a hands-on, commercially oriented role within a dynamic PE environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, management accounts preparation, and financial reporting
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management processes
• Drive improvements in financial controls, systems, and reporting frameworks
• Provide commercial finance support to senior leadership and operational teams
• Business partner with non-finance stakeholders across multiple service lines
• Support PE reporting requirements, board packs, KPIs and performance dashboards
• Contribute to strategic projects including pricing, profitability analysis, and M&A integration

About You

• Big 4 trained (required)
• Strong technical grounding in accounting, financial reporting and controls
• Experience in professional services, consulting, staffing, or a similar people-based business preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where process improvement is constant
• Confident communicator with the ability to challenge, influence and build relationships
• Commercially minded, analytical, and proactive
• Experience in a PE-backed environment is beneficial but not essential
